Mark Allen Selker VIEW PROFILE

MARK A. SELKER, of Blacklick, OH., died Feb. 23, 2004, after a long courageous battle with ALS. Preceded in death by his father, Milton L. Selker. Survived by wife, Pamela; son Jake Selker; mother Dorothy Selker of Shaker Hts.; sister Lynn (Jules) Lichtenstein of Chevy Chase, MD.; nephew Dan (Liora) Lichtenstein; niece Ann Lichtenstein; very close cousin, Rob Kahn; and close friend, Chuck Koplik. A special thank you to Mark's associates at PUCO for their kindness, support, and home visits, also, thank you to his dedicated nurses, Clara Snyder, Jean Hougland, and Jane Lanigan.

Mark was a graduate of Shaker Hts. High School, and earned a law degree from American University. Mark retired from the PUCO as a longtime Staff Attorney in the Consumer Services Department. Prior to the PUCO, he was a Staff Attorney with various law firms and a legislative aide to Congressman Mottl. His dedication to his job and his colleagues continues to be an inspiration to all who knew him.

Mark was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. MAIN ST., COLUMBUS, with Rabbi Harold Berman and Cantor Jack Chomsky officiating. Burial followed at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Selker residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to Perkins Observatory, Shalom House, ALS Association, or the donor's favorite Democratic Campaign.
